What a disaster

Trump’s second term began with an unmistakable message: he intended to govern through speed, confrontation, and aggressive executive force. During the first 90 days, the administration combined sweeping tariffs, aggressive immigration enforcement, federal workforce restructuring, and the mass clemency granted to January 6 defendants. The pardons were particularly consequential. By extending clemency even to people convicted of assaulting police officers, Trump transformed accountability for January 6 into a partisan battlefield. Supporters called the action a correction of political persecution; Democrats, law-enforcement officers, and victims’ families called it a betrayal of the rule of law. The second 90 days shifted the focus toward economic and institutional disruption. The “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” became a central target because of its tax provisions and changes to social programs. Immigration policy also acquired a stark physical symbol in the form of “Alligator Alcatraz,” a remote detention facility in the Florida Everglades. Meanwhile, escalating tariffs threatened higher prices and unsettled international markets. The administration’s moves against USAID and federal employee unions reinforced fears that long-standing institutions were being weakened in favor of centralized presidential control. During the third 90 days, those concerns broadened. The administration faced criticism over pressure on the Federal Reserve, expanded immigration restrictions, controversial health claims, and increasingly hostile treatment of journalists. Trump’s repeated attacks on reporters—calling them “fake news,” dismissing questions, or questioning their loyalty—were not merely personal outbursts to his critics. They became part of a broader conflict over whether the press could independently scrutinize presidential power. The fourth period brought the government shutdown and further confrontation over executive authority. It also included the reported “quiet piggy” exchange with Catherine Lucey, after she questioned Trump about Jeffrey Epstein-related records. The remark became a symbol of Trump’s treatment of women journalists and of his willingness to turn a routine press question into a public humiliation. Trump Family profits reaching in the billions raised serious conflict-of-interest concerns. The fifth, sixth, and seventh periods continued the same pattern: expanded executive action, pressure on independent institutions, immigration and environmental controversies, disputes with allies, and escalating conflict with the media. Reported subpoenas directed at journalists, efforts to restrict press access, and accusations that critical coverage was disloyal raised the stakes for press freedom. Taken together, these seven periods present a consistent critique of Trump’s second term: that his administration treated disruption as proof of strength, loyalty as more important than institutional independence, and criticism as an attack to be punished. The most consequential question was not simply what Trump said or did in any one 90-day period. It was whether repeated attacks on accountability—through pardons, executive action, economic pressure, personal business interests, and hostility toward journalists—would permanently change the boundaries of presidential power. My biggest question is - what would MAGA be doing if all of this were being done in the opposite direction by a Democrat President? What if Obama had said "Qiuet Piggy" to one of Fox News' reporters? What if Biden had made a deal with Putin or Xi or any other 'non-friendly'?What if Clinton had created his own killing-force that went around shooting women in the face without consequence.. Or murdering American nurses in the street... What then? How would those red hat wearers behave? Trump has a longer rapsheet than any of the thousands of immigrants that have been deported. Those immigrants have paid more taxes than Trump, they love this country more than trump loves this country. From my point of view Trump is a traitor, a felon and a rapist. Why would any sane person support such a vile creature?
